
The PRME Middle East and North Africa, or PRME Chapter MENA, was initially discussed at the 1st PRME MENA Regional Forum in 2011, hosted by the American University in Cairo School of Business (Egypt). In 2012, it was officially endorsed by participants at the 2nd PRME MENA Regional Forum, organised by USEK (Lebanon). The goals of the PRME MENA Chapter included offering a faculty development programme as part of the 3rd PRME MENA Regional Forum, which took place November 2013 at the University of Dubai (UAE).
The PRME Chapter MENA became formally established following the 4th PRME MENA Regional Forum, ”Regional and Local Challenges for Responsible Management Education,” which took place at ESCA School of Management, in Casablanca, Morocco in November 2014.
The 5th PRME MENA Regional Forum was hosted by Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Graduate School of Business, German Jordan University, in 2015.
The 6th PRME MENA Regional Forum was hosted by School of Business, the American University in Cairo, in 2016.
The 7th PRME MENA Regional Forum took place at The American University of Beirut in 2017.
The 8th PRME MENA Regional Forum took place at Zayed University in 2018 under the theme of "Social Enterprise in Support of the UN SDGs".
A Provisional Committee has been formed in September 2021 to revitalize the PRME Middle East and North Africa - MENA Chapter.
The 9th PRME Chapter MENA Regional Forum: Partnership for Change is on De Montfort University Dubai.
In 2023, PRME Chapter MENA was renamed PRME Chapter Middle East. PRME Chapter Africa officially serves the North African community of PRME, but cross-Chapter engagement remains highly encouraged.
The 10th PRME Chapter Middle East Regional Forum: Scheduled to take place at the University of Dubai on the 4th and 5th of December 2023 under the theme of Climate Leadership and Societal Impact.
