PRME Welcomes New Advisory Board Members and Chair

The Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME), an initiative of the UN Global Compact, is pleased to announce the appointment of five new members to the PRME Advisory Board: Dr. Lily Bi, President and CEO, AACSB International; Dr. Sherif Kamel, Professor of Management and Dean, Onsi Sawiris School of Business at The American University in Cairo; Dr. Jonathan Louw, Associate Professor of Management Education, Oxford Brookes Business School; Dr. Stephen Yong-Seung Park, Professor and Dean, Kyung Hee University School of Management; Director, Institute for Peace through Commerce; and Dr. Shiv Tripathi, Dean of the Faculty of Economics & Business Administration, Berlin School of Business and Innovation (BSBI).

PRME is also delighted to announce Dr. G. Andrew Karolyi, Charles Field Knight Dean and Professor of Finance, Cornell SC Johnson College of Business, as the new Chair of the PRME Advisory Board. Having served as Vice Chair of the PRME Advisory Board for the past three years, he is well positioned to provide continuity and strategic leadership. Karolyi has cultivated deep familiarity with PRME’s mission, governance, and global community. In this new role, he will help guide the Board’s strategic engagement with the PRME Secretariat and the wider community, as PRME continues to advance responsible management education globally. His additional leadership roles with AACSB, Responsible Research in Business and Management (RRBM), Accounting for Sustainability (A4S), and major finance associations speak to his readiness to guide PRME’s work at the intersection of business education, research, and sustainable development. Karolyi is a leading scholar in international financial markets, providing pioneering research and teaching on climate and biodiversity finance, asset management, corporate finance, and emerging markets.

“Management education today has an opportunity—and an obligation—to improve its relevance and impact. The most effective business schools of the future will be those that combine academic excellence with meaningful engagement across industry, government, and civil society. Business education sees its future not in standalone business schools, but in integrating teaching and business simultaneously across sectors and industries. Responsible practices will benefit both business and society at large.

The PRME community is leading business education in the 21st century. This remarkable network of over 800 business schools across the global business education landscape will continue opening pathways for communication and collaboration far and wide, establishing relationships that can support the kind of growth we need.”

The PRME Advisory Board brings together leaders from across higher education, business, and the responsible management education ecosystem to provide strategic insight, strengthen global engagement, and support PRME’s mission to equip current and future leaders with the knowledge, skills, and values needed to advance sustainable development.

As colleagues from across the world gather in Cairo for RME Week, I am particularly encouraged by the momentum, collaboration, and shared sense of purpose that continue to drive this important work. I look forward to working with my fellow Board members to further strengthen PRME's reach, relevance, and contribution to addressing the complex challenges facing our societies and economies.”
