DEADLINE EXTENDED: PRME Global Students Sustainability Awards

*Deadline Extended to 14 April 2024 (11:59 pm EST)*

Calling student organizations: Apply for the PGS Sustainability Awards!

Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) now invites sustainability-oriented student organizations to apply for the PRME Global Students (PGS) Sustainability Awards, recognizing the excellence of impactful sustainability-oriented student organizations from PRME Signatory Members that align their work with the Seven Principles for Responsible Management Education and advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

PGS aims to award student organizations from the global PRME community that have demonstrated a solid commitment and taken meaningful action to promote sustainable development in their localities, focused on social, economic, and environmental progress, as well as fostering good governance and responsible management throughout the 2023 calendar year.

The PGS Sustainability Awards are divided into two phases: Regional Awards and Global Awards.

Regional Awards

The Regional Awards welcome submissions from student organizations and are divided into nine regions (Latin America, North America, Africa, Europe, Eurasia, the Middle East, South and Central Asia, East and Southeast Asia, and Oceania). Submissions from each region will be evaluated by regional Judging Committees composed of PGS Regional Leaders (students) and PRME Chapter representatives (faculty) from Signatory Members in each particular region. These nine Judging Committees will select three finalists per region and, among them, define the two runner-ups and the winner who will be awarded during a dedicated virtual PGS Regional Sustainability Awards Ceremony on 8 May 2024.

Global Awards

All nine Regional Winners will progress to the final stage: Global Awards. Regional Winners will appoint four representatives from their student organizations to compete remotely in the Conscious Capitalism Competition, organized in partnership with MarketPlace Simulations, which will take place between 9 May and 17 June 2024.

On 18 June 2024, PRME will celebrate the Regional Winners and award the Global Winner during the PRME Global Forum. The student organization awarded as the Global Winner will receive a USD 2,000 monetary prize to increase the impact of their local initiatives.

PRME believes that by acknowledging and rewarding outstanding student organization practices, we can drive meaningful change in business education. All Regional Winners and the Global Winner will be showcased on the PRME website as a best practice example for student organizations across the global PRME community.

Call for Submissions:

Submissions are open to student organizations associated with PRME Signatory Members worldwide and should be completed by a representative of the student organization who must be a student formally enrolled with a PRME Signatory Member during the 2023 calendar year (January to December 2023).

Submissions are encouraged from student organizations dedicated to advancing sustainability within responsible management. Examples of these topical areas could include but are not limited to: climate change, gender equality, sustainable finance, human rights, poverty alleviation, curriculum change, environmental protection, consulting for sustainability practices, business for peace, inclusive economy, as well as interdisciplinary contributions.

You can find more information about the submission criteria and requirements, as well as the judging criteria for the Regional Awards phase, by accessing the PGS Sustainability Awards Call for Submissions.
