Global Education Leaders Recognized by PRME for Innovation and Impact in Responsible Management Education

CAIRO, EGYPT, 28 JUNE 2026 — Today, the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME), an initiative of the UN Global Compact, announced the recipients of the 2026 PRME Education Award. The award recognizes business and management school faculty from Australia, Austria, Canada, Egypt, Hungary, India, Ireland, Mexico, Nigeria, Portugal, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland, Tunisia, United States, United Kingdom, and Vietnam with the 2026 PRME Education Award for their excellence in embedding sustainability and responsible management practices into business education.

The awards celebrate exceptional contributions across pedagogy, curriculum, research, and academic development. Winning submissions demonstrated educational quality, relevance across contexts, demonstrated impact, and advancement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Their work emphasized institutional efforts that bring values of business, management, leadership, sustainable development, and teaching and learning efforts to the forefront.

A judging committee of the PRME Secretariat and PRME-affiliated academic leaders judged 43 submissions from 22 countries to select four winners, eight runners-up, one Honorable Mention for Outstanding Creativity, and 11 Disciplinary Honorable Mentions, for their ability to inspire meaningful change in the way future business leaders are educated. Submissions were evaluated through a combined quantitative and qualitative approach. Judges assessed each application across five key criteria outlined in detail in the official judging rubric, and scores were averaged to determine overall applicant performance and final rankings.

“The 2026 PRME Education Awards highlight the depth and diversity of efforts taking place across our global community to advance responsible management education,” said Dr. David Steingard, Head of PRME. “This year’s awardees demonstrate how rigorous, thoughtfully designed education can meaningfully contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals and better prepare students to navigate complex global challenges.”

The 2026 awardees exemplify what’s possible when educators thoughtfully integrate the SDGs and Principles of PRME into teaching, research, leadership, and institutional practice. Their efforts have not only elevated student learning and skill development but also contributed to a more sustainable, inclusive, and globally relevant model of business education. By celebrating these leading examples, PRME aims to inspire continued innovation and shared learning across its global network.

All of the awardees, listed below, were recognized at the in-person 2026 PRME Global Forum and promoted as best practice to the global PRME community for their contributions to advancing sustainability education in business and management schools worldwide:
