PRME Update on the Conflict in Lebanon

Dear PRME Community,

We are closely following the developments in Lebanon and the broader Middle East with deep concern for the safety and well-being of all those affected. Our thoughts are especially with our colleagues and their families affiliated with our five PRME Signatory Members in Lebanon, and we hope for their safety during this difficult time.

The Secretariat has been in contact with those Signatory Members as well as the PRME Chapter Middle East to offer our support. We extend our heartfelt sympathies to those who have loved ones impacted by the ongoing conflict.

We are aligned with the UN Secretary-General and the UN System’s response to the conflict. We echo the UN Secretary-General’s call for immediate ceasefire, and encourage all to support efforts toward peace. For now, we recommend staying informed through reliable news sources, and you can find the latest statements from the Secretary-General here.

In times of crisis, every stakeholder has a role to play in supporting humanitarian efforts and fostering peace. For those looking to help those affected in Lebanon, we encourage contributions to the Lebanon Red Cross.
