Aston University's Commitment to Sustainability
Aston University has proudly welcome a global and multicultural community throughout its history and is located in the heart of Birmingham, one of the UK’s most diverse cities and home to an unrivalled cultural heritage.
With its ‘triple-crown’ accreditation from AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS, Aston Business School's vision is to be a global leader for practice-led teaching and impactful research aimed at benefiting students, professions, for-profit and social enterprises in a socially and environmentally responsible way. As such we advise policy-makers on ways to improve society and the economy.
Aston University signed up to the NUS Responsible Futures Accreditation Mark in 2018 and achieved the accreditation in June 2021. Responsible Futures recognises UK Universities who are working to embed issues around sustainability and social responsibility within curricula across all faculties.
We are therefore fully committed to ESD (Education for Sustainable Development) and to meeting the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, which include social and ethical commitments beyond the environment alone.
