PRME Chapter Middle East Hosts 12th Regional Forum on Education for Sustainable Business Models

On 8 December 2025, the PRME Chapter Middle East convened 131 educators, business leaders, policymakers, and students for its 12th Regional Forum, hosted in collaboration with the SEE Institute – Dubai. The Forum was held under the theme “Education for Sustainable Business Models in the Middle East: Connecting Academia, Business, and Society,” highlighting the critical role of responsible management education in driving sustainable transformation across the region.

The Forum served as a dynamic platform for dialogue and knowledge exchange, focusing on how business and management education can equip current and future leaders with the skills, values, and systems thinking needed to address climate change, decarbonization, and broader sustainable development challenges. Participants explored innovative approaches to sustainability literacy, interdisciplinary collaboration, and industry-academia partnerships that translate learning into real-world impact.

Advancing Sustainability Through Education and Collaboration

Key objectives of the Forum included:

  • Share best practices for integrating sustainable business models into university, business and society

  • Advance sustainability education through innovative business & management practices

  • Deepen industry–academia partnerships for co-created sustainable solutions

  • Facilitate discourse on policy and governance to advance the integration of sustainability across business and management education policies

  • Drive the implementation of climate action and decarbonization strategies

  • Promote interdisciplinary collaboration and future-ready sustainability education

  • Inspire students and youth leadership in climate-positive action

  • Strengthen regional networks to deliver SDGs in the Middle East

Throughout the day, speakers and participants emphasized the shared purpose of PRME and the SEE Institute in shaping leaders prepared not only for today’s challenges, but for tomorrow’s realities.

Celebrating Student Leadership and Regional Impact

The Forum also spotlighted student innovation and leadership. Modern College of Business and Science (MCBS), Oman, students Salma Suleiman, Tuqa Al Nofali, Fawziya Fahad, and Fatma Begum were awarded first prize at the Middle East Case Competition for their sustainability strategy, an achievement celebrated as a milestone for both the institution and the region.

Reflecting on the event, participants expressed pride and inspiration in being part of a gathering that brought together educators, researchers, industry leaders, and changemakers committed to advancing responsible management education. The Forum underscored the power of regional collaboration in translating sustainability principles into action and impact.

PRME Chapter Middle East extends its thanks to the SEE Institute, Dubai, and all contributors for hosting a truly impactful event and for their continued leadership in advancing responsible management education across the Middle East.
