A tribute to Consuelo Garcia de la Torre: Valued member of the PRME community

On 29 January 2022, the PRME community mourned the death of our dear friend Consuelo Garcia de la Torre. It is very difficult to believe in her departure, especially because Consuelo was always a very present person, who acted together with us in a very active way until her last days. Especially in PRME, as a devoted and tireless leader for responsible executive education. She was more than a teacher or advisor to a new generation of business professionals and scholars who, thanks to her influence, found and strengthened their vocation to become agents for the positive transformation of the world.

Consuelo’s contribution to the history of responsible and entrepreneurial education worldwide is undeniable. In various moments of debate and construction, she was there with her strength and opinion. In the construction of guidelines, chapters, books and work groups she was there.

For those who also had the opportunity to have her as a friend, it was wonderful to be with her in moments of relaxation, with easy laughter and fun look, always ready for a good conversation about her travels around the world.

On the last day 29 she left for her last big travel, and we stayed here in mourning for having lost her, but happy for the opportunity to cross paths with her in this life and touched by her generosity, her joy, her passion for life, her dedication to work, her infinite desire to discover the world and change, at least a small part of it.

Rest in peace, dear Consuelo.

Impact Stories Transforming Teaching, Operations, and Collaboration: Insights into Geri Mason’s Champions Experience
As a development economist working within a business school, Geri Mason’s pathway into PRME was both unconventional and deeply aligned with her academic purpose. Economists are still underrepresented in management education spaces, and development economics even more so. Yet Geri’s lifelong focus on poverty, sustainability, and human flourishing made PRME a natural fit, long before it became a formal framework at her institution. Geri joined Seattle Pacific University (SPU) in 2010, just after the university became a PRME Signatory in 2008. SPU
