EFOS
J.J. Strossmayer University of Osijek - UNIOS was founded in 1975, and the Faculty of Economics and Business in Osijek (EFOS), as its oldest member, in 1961. It acts as a regional centre of knowledge, research and excellence. EFOS is a socially responsible and innovative HEI, which, through the educational process, from undergraduate to doctoral studies, and scientific research work in the field of economics and business economics, focused mainly on management, entrepreneurship, information systems and regional development. EFOS develops high-quality study programs that continuously expand in depth and breadth. EFOS is the only HEI in Croatia providing education in entrepreneurship from undergraduate to doctoral level, including lifelong learning program. EFOS is particularly recognized for its contribution in the field of entrepreneurship, for which it was awarded the UNESCO Chair in Entrepreneurship in 1998. In 2011 and 2024, the Faculty of Economics in Osijek underwent a successful process of international accreditation and received the IQA certificate (International Quality Accreditation CEEMAN) and in 2023 became a member of the EFMD Global network and AACSB´s Business Education Alliance. EFOS currently employs 66 educators and 41 administrative and other staff. EFOS has successfully participated in many EU projects, and in last 5 years taking part in 4 EIT Urban Mobility projects, 5 Erasmus+, 1 COSME project, 4 ESF projects.
