FUNDEPOS University was established 35 years ago with the arrival in Costa Rica of National University from San Diego California. It was the first university to offer an MBA in Costa Rica and to date accounts over 3500 graduates. Currently UFUNDEPOS belongs to the Costa Rican cooperative movement, whose main stream of activity is circumscribed to the inclusive economy. It is the only such university in Central America. Currently the university belongs to CENECOOP R.L. (https://www.cene.coop/) and to COOPEALIANZA R.L. (https://coopealianza.fi.cr/). The aim is to involve another three cooperatives that have shown interest so that 40% shares or so will belong to the cooperatives.
University of FUNDEPOS main line of activity is in the field of business administration, although lately, through the Institute for Professional Development and Research (IDEPI), it has experienced accelerated growth in technical and non-degree programs in several disciplines, accounting for more than one hundred courses. Our academic offer is directed to the general public, cooperative members receiving partial financial aid.
