Bridging borders virtually: COIL as a gateway to global experiences without travel

Are you passionate about fostering international experiences for your students but worried about the challenges of environmental impacts, travel limitations for disadvantaged students, or logistical hurdles? Look no further! Join us for an engaging webinar where we delve into the world of Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) and its transformative potential for your classroom.

In this webinar, we will focus on leveraging COIL to facilitate enriching international experiences for students without the need for physical travel. Specifically, we will explore how a COIL approach centered around the AIM2Flourish assignment can serve as a catalyst for student-centered discussions on the role of businesses in driving social good.

During our session, we will explore potential roadblocks and present easy-to-implement solutions to facilitate a seamless implementation of COIL. In our small breakout rooms, participants can engage directly with facilitators who have firsthand experience with COIL initiatives, join the discussion to pose questions, share insights, and hear about challenges and best practices. Join us and discover the power of COIL in shaping global citizens and business leaders of tomorrow.

The workshop will be delivered by Isabel Rodriguez-Tejedo, Professor of Economics & Society for a Sustainable Environment at the School of Economics & Business at the University of Navarra, Spain. She will be joined by fellow COILers who will co-facilitate the session: Amelia Naim (IPMI, Indonesia), Anjali Chaudhry (Dominican University, USA), Ferdinand Niyimbanira (University of Mpumalanga, South Africa), Mary Ragui (Kenyatta University, Kenya), Romina Hosseingholizadeh (U of Guelph, Canada), Ruben Burga (Uni. of Guelph, Canada), and Yang Hoong (U of Guelph, Canada). Our COIL team received the 2023 PRME Faculty Award Recognition for Excellence in SDG integration.
