PRME & Sulitest: Partnering for Impact

Sulitest and PRME announce a new partnership to support measuring and monitoring sustainability knowledge amongst students.

Sulitest, a global movement mainstreaming sustainability literacy in Higher Education, and the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME), an initiative the UN Global Compact that aims to raise the profile of sustainability in business and management education, are thrilled to announce a new partnership. Sulitest has been leading the assessment framework of PRME’s Impactful Five (i5) project since 2023 and are now excited to provide their assessment tools to the greater PRME community.

PRME’s mission is to transform management education and develop the responsible decision-makers of tomorrow to advance sustainable development. In this effort, embedding sustainability in the curriculum, so that all students are equipped with the relevant sustainability knowledge, is vital. With this aim, Sulitest has launched TASK™ (The Assessment of Sustainability Knowledge), a reliable and standardized assessment tool for measuring and monitoring sustainability knowledge.

“With TASK™, Sulitest is now enabling business schools to assess and demonstrate the impact of their pedagogy on students’ knowledge of sustainability. PRME is happy to contribute to this impactful initiative and to recommend Sulitest as a best practice for integrating the SDGs into business education,” stated Meredith Storey, Senior Manager at PRME.

As a comparable assessment, TASK can be used to compare programs, or in entry- and exit-testing of a cohort of students. It enables higher education institutions to identify areas of improvement and monitor progress. These detailed and aggregated results provide evidence to accreditors, rankings, and various stakeholders of the tangible outputs of a sustainability education strategy.

Within one year, 50 institutions have started to use TASK™. Gabriella Cagliesi, Interim Associate Dean at University of Sussex Business School, a PRME Champion, stated: “We are delighted to partner with Sulitest and to join the TASK™ Change Leaders programme. This is an excellent opportunity for us to enhance our sustainability literacy in pursuing our school's vision and strategy to align our education with the global challenges and opportunities of the 21st century.”

As we celebrate his partnership, we would like to invite PRME Signatory Members to the upcoming webinar on 18 April presenting TASK™ and discussing the importance of sustainability education evaluation. PRME Signatories who join the TASK™ Change Leader program this year will benefit from a discount.

This event represents an opportunity for professors, sustainability professionals, and the broader higher education community to better understand how this tool can enhance their impact, support curricular review, equip graduates, and facilitate sustainability reporting.
