PRME Concludes World Tour: Empowering Scholars for Sustainable Management

In June 2024, PRME closed a three-year long, global programme, The ‘PRME World Tour Research Paper Development Program’. The PRME World Tour offered PRME Regional Chapters research paper development workshops during 2022-2024 co-organized with the PRME World Tour Organizing Committee. The purpose of the World Tour was to support early-career as well as mid-career scholars in bringing research to publication, as part of the field’s commitment to relevant and timely research insights that advance responsible management and sustainable development around the world.

The PRME World Tour also had a more general ambition of supporting the professionalization of the scholarly field of responsible management research, by increasing the range of voices heard, as authors and representing concerns are too often marginalized or excluded from the most prestigious journals. Over the course of the last three years, the PRME World Tour hosted:

  • 11 Workshops

  • 200+ Papers

  • 120+ Authors

  • 400+ Participants

  • 70+ Mentors

The feedback obtained from participants is a testament to its impact. One participant said, “I gained lots of insight into journal authoring," while another quipped, “The interaction was amazing!" The mentoring culture evidently helps academics navigate challenges they face in their publishing journey. As one author noted, “This workshop helped me develop a plan to approach the discussion section with more structure. This was very helpful indeed,” and another remarked, “The experts really helped us in giving the right direction with our ongoing research work through their constructive criticism as well as appreciations about our work.”

The PRME World Tour Research Paper Development Program was made possible by the generous partnership of two of the world’s leading international journals in the responsible management and business-in-society field: Business & Society and Journal of Business Ethics. The PRME World Tour Research Paper Development’s Organizing Committee was chaired by a former co-editor of Business & Society and had senior scholars from both journals with research experience from different world geographies. Each workshop was organized with one or more PRME representatives from the region. Each workshop was open for engaging with senior scholars and mentors from other relevant journals.
