The Westin Cairo Golf Resort & Spa, Katameya Dunes

Update: These rooms have all been reserved. You can still book at this hotel but it may not be at the rates listed below.

There is a block of 50 rooms reserved at the Westin in New Cairo available for the duration of RME Week and can be booked for any of the dates during that week. The block includes classic single beds for 200.00 USD and classic double bed rooms for 220.00 USD, subject to 28.96% taxes and service charges per night on bed and breakfast basis. You may cancel this reservation free of charge maximum by 27 May, 2026 after which the full stay plus taxes will be charged as per the agreed rates. The last date to book is 13 June, 2026.

Transportation

Transportation and Airport Transfer:

Upon arrival in Cairo, you may arrange transportation using one of the following options:

  • London Cab Egypt
    You can use the London Cab Egypt App mobile application (available on the Apple App Store and Google Play). Services include airport transfers and in-city travel.
  • Cairo Airport limousine service
    You may also pre-book an airport limousine in advance via the Airport Travel Website the Cairo Airport Travel Website
  • Uber
    Uber is widely used in Egypt and is available in Cairo for airport pickups and in-city travel (via the Uber mobile app).

Event Transportation

Shuttle

We will have a free shuttle route running between a handful of hotels in the area at specific times. Please see the schedule below to see the route, which hotels it will be stopping at, and at what times. It will drop attendees off at the Pepsi Gate at AUC. Access the shuttle schedule here.

Taxi / Uber

Public transit is not available for this event and walking is not recommended due to the high temperatures and distance to venue. If you are not staying at one of the hotels on the route, you may take a taxi or Uber to a hotel to catch the shuttle or can you take a taxi or Uber straight to the venue. Uber is readily available in Egypt. Please take the taxi or Uber to Gate 4 and then enter through the Pepsi entrance to get to the venue. We will have signs to direct folks to the gates.

Visa Access

Participants are responsible for confirming and securing any visa required for entry into Egypt before travel. Visa requirements vary by nationality, passport type, residency status, and travel route, so all participants should check the official Egypt e-Visa portal and/or contact their nearest Egyptian embassy or consulate for the requirements that apply to them. Travelers should ensure that their passport is valid for at least six months from the date of arrival in Egypt and has at least one blank page. Participants who are eligible for Egypt’s e-Visa are encouraged to apply as early as possible and to use only the official Egypt e-Visa portal. Some travelers may be eligible for a visa on arrival, while others may be required to obtain a visa in advance; please verify your specific requirements directly with official Egyptian government sources before departure.

Local Currency and Payments

Egypt’s currency is the Egyptian Pound (EGP). Credit cards are widely accepted; however, it is recommended to carry some cash for small purchases.

Electricity and Plug Types

The electricity supply in Egypt operates on a 220V supply voltage and 50Hz. Common plug types are Type C and Type F.

Cultural Excursions

REGISTRATION FOR THE CULTURAL EXCURSION IS CLOSED

The cultural excursion is not included in the registration and is self-paid. Participants will pay on-site, either by cash in the local currency or by card.

Tour Options

1. Tour of the Pyramids of Giza, Lunch and Visit to the Grand Egyptian Museum: $138/personExperience some of Egypt’s most iconic cultural landmarks with a guided visit to the Pyramids of Giza, followed by lunch at a local Egyptian restaurant and time to explore the Grand Egyptian Museum at your own pace. Important Note: The visit to the Pyramids will take place outdoors, and temperatures are expected to be very high at this time of year. Water will be provided; however, participants are kindly encouraged to prepare accordingly for extreme heat, including wearing appropriate clothing, sun protection, and comfortable footwear.

Transportation: is included for both tour options, with pick-up available from The Westin Cairo Golf Resort & Spa, Katameya Dunes or the Tolip El Narges Hotel & SPA. Both hotels are located near the AUC Campus, the host venue for 2026 RME Week. If you are not staying at one of these hotels, we kindly ask that you arrange your own transportation, such as a taxi or Uber, to one of the designated pick-up locations in order to join the included tour transportation.
