Achievements Curriculum Integration in the Field of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability
Overall the school offers several courses that put sustainability, responsible management and ethics at the center stage, from bachelor to MBA and PhD programs. Main initiatives include the following actions.
(i) Two out of 9 specialization tracks of the Master of Science program in Management Engineering focus on sustainability challenges, i.e. Sustainable operations and social innovation, Energy and environmental management tracks.
(ii) MIP, our graduate Business School, runs Sustainability & Ethics in Business and Circular Economy bootcamps for its MBA, Executive MBA, and Industrial management Master students. It also has a Master in Energy Management.
(iii) Our graduating students whose thesis focuses on sustainable development challenges can apply for a School of Management for SDGs award.
For the future we aim at creating new opportunities for our students to undertake their internships and theses on responsible management, sustainable development and ethics issues in business, public and civil society sectors, also leveraging our memberships and networks in these domains.
Achievements Research Development in the Field of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability
We have mapped over 20 research programs that are supported by competitive grants and research contracts and focus on one or more Sustainable Development Goals. They address challenges in the areas of sustainable business, inclusive society and resources management. In addition to programs that stem from one of the core disciplines of the School, i.e. Management, Industrial engineering, Applied economics, many research programs are inter-disciplinary, either internally or externally owing to cooperation with engineering and architecture schools of Politecnico di Milano and other technical Universities.
For the future we aim at strengthening cooperation on these topics with partners that are significant in the Italian economy, i.e. SMEs and social organizations.
