Monday, March 16th, 2020 - New York, NY
The World Health Organization (WHO) has now labeled the outbreak of COVID-19, commonly known as the Coronavirus, a pandemic. This announcement calls all actors, from civil society to businesses, to take precautions and respond accordingly in order to limit the spread of the novel virus.
The PRME Secretariat team in New York will continue to work diligently in supporting academia and all partners to the best of our abilities, especially in as uncertain a time as this.
We encourage all signatories and the wider PRME community to heed the advice of local authorities and take the necessary precautions in order to limit the contagion and protect both our healthcare systems and most vulnerable populations from being encumbered.

Global Forum Update:
The UN Global Compact and PRME are coordinating closely with the World Health Organization (WHO), local, state, and federal agencies to plan for a safe PRME Global Forum in June. As a result, we are proceeding with plans for the 2020 PRME Global Forum on 17-18 June, with the health and safety of attendees and staff as our priority. Information and practices are changing during this rapidly evolving situation and we will continue to follow national and UN guidelines.
