2014 3rd PRME Regional Meeting Latin America and the Caribbean

The 3rd PRME Regional Meeting Latin America and Caribbean, “Ethics, Transparency and Sustainability: Pillars for Business Competitiveness,” the annual meeting of regional PRME signatories, was held with the principal objectives of promoting the adoption of PRME and the UN Global Compact principles by academic institutions, business and civil society in the LAC region and increasing the membership of universities and business schools in the newly-created LAC PRME Chapter.
The conference brought together close to 125 participants in two very productive days, and took place under the patronage of the Global Compact Network Mexico. Prominent speakers from business schools, the business sector, and Government gave an overview of the current challenges and opportunities regarding sustainable development, humanistic approach to education, climate change, and the implementation of PRME in the business school. The PRME community in LAC was able to reflect together, share experiences and learn from each other, and in addition, strengthen their partnerships.
In conclusion to the productive 3rd meeting, PRME signatories in attendance expressed the intention that the PRME Chapter LAC become formally established, and signed a declaration and an MoU with the PRME Secretariat.
In 2015, the 4th PRME Regional Meeting LAC will take place at Universidad Externado in Bogota, Colombia.
The 2nd PRME Latin American Regional Meeting was held in June 2012 at CENTRUM Católica Graduate Business School in Lima, Peru.
The 1st PRME Latin American Regional Meeting was held in December 2011 at IAE Business School in Buenos Aires.
