Achievements Curriculum Integration in the Field of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability
The Australian Institute of Management has a history of executive training and educating managers and leaders of over 76 years (including a decade of higher education postgraduate education offerings). During that time the organisation has offered courses in Ethics and Governance and in our current MBA course we include units on Leadership, Innovation and Sustainability, and most recently on Mindfulness and Transformational Leadership. We are building additional units in these areas for 2018.We also offer research units where candidates can undertake research on Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability. Moreover, some of our academics (10 full-time and 80 sessionals) do research and publish in these areas and do consultancy work for a diverse array of organisations. We are a 1:1:1 organisation donating 1% of employee time to charities; 1% profit to charities; and 1% of profit to scholarships.
Achievements Research Development in the Field of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability
Whilst we are not a university and focus rather on teaching and learning and are not funded for research per se, as mentioned above, a number of our full time and sessional academics do research and publish in these areas and do consultancy work for a diverse array of organisations. A number have PhDs in these areas and the Dean has supervised a number of doctoral degrees in them in addition.
For 2018, a paper has already been submitted for a conference on Sustainability; and research is underway by a group of faculty members on Change Management in the Not For Profit Sector with the introduction of the Australian National Disability Insurance Scheme; and additional curriculum materials/units are being developed as indicated above in Sustainability and Mindfulness.
