IAE Business School’s mission includes an explicit commitment to ethically and socially responsible behaviour in the management profession. All activities at IAE are conducted with the human being at the core of the business community and economic activity. Thus, the implementation of the PRME principles in our institution is based on solid ground. The School’s mission sets its main focus on the impact the businessman as a person can make in society.
Sharing Information on Progress (2010)
Curriculum change has been primarily effected through the incorporation of a Business Ethics approach that has compliance as one of its key components, offering a more complex view with a real impact on good business practices. Thus, the purely legalistic compliance view has been replaced by an integrity-based view that seeks to emphasize a proactive, value-driven approach, incorporating issues dealing with environmental, labor, and social rights.
Achievements Curriculum Integration in the Field of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability
1. At the IAE, an academic area called 'Business, Society and Economics' was established in 1999 to study the relationship between Businesses and Society. Corporate Citizenship, Corporate Social Responsibility, Business and its Environment are some of the topics taught through several courses and seminars.
2. All executive programs include at least four sessions on Corporate Social Responsibility.
3. MBA students engage in a three-month social program providing consultancy to NGO's.
Achievements Research Development in the Field of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability
1. We are establishing a Research Center to study Business Governance and Transparency. The aim of the Center is to study governance and transparency conceptually and to develop teaching materials in order to provide our students and executives with useful frameworks and tools to fight against private corruption.
