Report on implementation of the Principles for Responsible Management Education at BMI and objectives for the PRME over the next 2 years.

Achievements Curriculum Integration in the Field of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability

*Identity: BMI operates as a partnership of 5 international business school (HEC Paris, Copenhagen Business School, NHH Norwegian School of Economics, Louvain School of Management and Lithuania's Vytautas Magnus University) to deliver an International Executive MBA and executive education programmes. Faculty are entirely international, from the partner schools and other leading international business schools, and teach on a visiting basis. Preparing high-level managers to be generators of sustainable value for business, society at large and the global economy is BMI's mission and is reflected in the design and delivery of programmes.
*Achieved: The BMI EMBA curriculum includes a core course dedicated to ethics and social responsibility. Issues related to the UN Global Compact and PRME principles are also touched upon in a number of other courses, from finance and marketing to operations, HR and strategy.
*Planned: BMI intends to continue developing and renewing the EMBA course on ethics and social responsibility in line with international developments in the field, ensuring a pedagogical approach that helps participants apply such principles practically in their own organizations and their work as managers. BMI also intends to formalize and better coordinate the integration of corporate responsibility and sustainability material into other parts of the EMBA curriculum and executive education programmes. Finally, BMI intends to engage in more regular reporting of its efforts and progress in these areas to all our stakeholders and more actively exchange effective practices with other academic institutions, starting with the BMI partner schools and other leading business schools that provide faculty members for our programmes.

Achievements Research Development in the Field of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability

*Achieved: BMI students are currently active high-level managers in the Baltic region who continue working throughout their studies. Some BMI EMBA students each year dedicate their Master's thesis to issues of CSR and sustainability, going deeper into areas explored in the programme, applying it to their own organizations and/or starting related social initiatives. BMI has worked with Transparency International to organize trainings and discussions for executives on how companies can help fight corruption.
*Planned: BMI, which roughly six times a year publishes BMI Knowledge executive research briefs, intends to begin dedicating one issue a year to practical issues of ethics, social responsibility and sustainability. It will do so by drawing on original research by faculty of the partner schools and outstanding work by BMI EMBA students during their final master's project. BMI will also encourage and support social responsibility initiatives of the BMI Alumni Association, and will more actively seek to include CSR issues in its cycles of public lectures and debates with leading members of the business community.
