Politecnico di Milano School of Management PRME SIP Report - View Report

Period Covered: May 2014 to May 2016

The 2016 report illustrates the set of initiatives/projects/activities currently carried on by the School of Management with regard to the UN principles for responsible management education, the main outcomes that the School has reached so far and the objectives for the next two years

Achievements Curriculum Integration in the Field of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability

Teaching:
- at M.Sc. level: Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility course (5 credits), Energy Mgt course (with focus on renewables and environmental sustainability - 5 credits). Sustainability issues treated also in many "core" courses (on Manufacturing Management, SC management, Purchasing Mgt, HR Mgt, Organisation Design, Business Economics and Administration, Business and Corporate Strategy, etc)
- MBA/ Executive MBA programs: "Business Ethics and CSR", "Sustainability strategy and organisation" and "Sustainability Operations and Supply Chain" electives (30 hrs each) + many sections of "core" courses dedicated to sustainability and CSR topics
- sections of core courses (Purchasing/Supply chain/manufacturing/HR mgt, Finance etc) dedicated to CSR/sustainability issues in most Specialised Masters
- Executive Education: portfolio of short courses on "Strategic Sustainability Management" (now under revision)
- parts of custom corporate programs dedicated to sustainability issues

Achievements Research Development in the Field of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability

- participation to many EU-funded (VI, VII Framework Programme, etc) projects on CSR and sustainability and CSR issues
- many other research projects on sustainability/CSR/social issues funded by Italian Ministry of Research/other public and private bodies (Regione Lombardia, Fondazione Cariplo, etc)
- many applied research activities (for example: "Applied Research Centers" on Energy Management, Renewables and Energy efficiency: www.energystrategy.it)
- many applied research/consulting projects with companies/non profit organisations/public administration on social and sustainability issues
We are particularly interested in the managerial/organisational as well as in the policy implications of sustainability and social-related issues
