Sharing Information on Progress (2015)

Year in Review 2015-2016 - View Report

Period Covered: Jul 2015 to Jun 2016

At Gustavson, we use the seven Principles for Responsible Management Education as a framework for how we teach, research, engage, and communicate. This report includes some of our stories about what the faculty, staff and students do in the classroom and beyond; how we engage with businesses in our community; and some of the far-reaching impacts of our researchers, whether they're undergrads or professors.

Achievements Curriculum Integration in the Field of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability

In February 2009, 14 divisions across the Gustavson School of Business committed to 112 initiatives that involve integrating sustainability or CSR into programs, specializations, projects, and courses, and in June of that year the faculty officially announced Sustainability and Social Responsibility as one of four strategic pillars.
In 2011, we created the in-house Centre for Social and Sustainable Innovation to help further develop and integrate our Environment, Society and Governance initatives. As CSSI works with all of the other units at Gustavson, the school is able to measure our operational impact, to initiate changes, to offer more educational events for faculty and staff, and to share the myriad stories of our faculty and students' many successes.
Our goals are to completely integrate ESG content in every educational offering, to reduce our carbon footprint and become carbon neutral, and to support even more ESG-related research activities at Gustavson.

Achievements Research Development in the Field of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability

The Centre for Social and Sustainable Innovation at the Gustavson School of Business initiates research events such as an annual PhD Colloquium, along with talks by visiting scholars as well as our own faculty experts in fields ranging from microfinance to cross-sector collaboration to ecosystem restoration.
We also support knowledge development by contributing to the research and education activities of the other units at Gustavson, from undergrad experiential learning to MBA case competitions and research projects.
