The CU Denver Business School Managing for Sustainability program has a three stage approach offering sustainability and sustainable value courses to students including integrating sustainability in the core courses for MBA students, having sustainable value content in elective courses, and having a specialization in Managing for Sustainability.
Achievements Curriculum Integration in the Field of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability
In AY 2007-2008, the Business School
*created a specialization in Managing for Sustainability for the MBA and MS Management degrees.
*designed 7 graduate and 1 undergraduate courses addressing different areas/aspects of sustainability and corporate social responsibility.
*offered 5 graduate and 1 undergraduate sustainability courses
*established a community advisory board consisting of 8 business leaders
In AY 2008-2009 We plan to
*expand the community advisory board to 20 members
*offer 7 graduate courses and 1 undergraduate courses.
*sponsor a full day seminar to the business community
*develop and offer several workshops/seminars to the business community
*host guest speakers in business core classes to share their best practices in implementing sustainable management practices.
In 2014 to 2016 we plan to:
*expand the community advisory board and develop new field study
and internship opportunities for Managing for Sustainability students,
to develop and try to fund a Sustainability Speaker series, and work
on more interdisciplinary opportunities in sustainability across campus
and undergraduate sustainability education.
Achievements Research Development in the Field of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability
Faculty members are conducting research on global health and sustainability and to expand the knowledge and understanding of climate change and sustainability across different disciplines.
