FGV-EAESP_SIP PRME 2015_Developing Responsible Leaders - View Report

FGV-EAESP is aligned with corporate business practices and attuned to the frontiers of research in Brazil and worldwide. Since 2009, we have been signatories of the PRME. We have made a great effort to prepare a report to inspire other signatory schools to find synergies with our initiatives. In the next years, we intend to implement approaches to train responsible leaders, who are keenly aware of their surroundings. Accordingly, we will systematically offer opportunities to discuss sustainable development.

Achievements Curriculum Integration in the Field of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability

FGV-EAESP is historically committed to the creation of knowledge, theories and procedures capable of generating and supporting individuals to act as leaders in important changes both in private companies and government spheres.
The research activities carried out at the Institution are consonant with the School statutes and they show the commitment of the school to advance in the production of knowledge necessary for the generation of leadership in a complex scenario which combines deep knowledge in management and akin areas with environmental, social, economic and financial aspects.
Many research activities are already in accordance with PRME principles. Among them, the following ones can be listed:
• Researches carried out at the Research Centers approach different themes under the perspective of sustainability, especially the Research Center on Sustainability (GVces), the Center for Retail Excellence (GVcev), and the Research Center on Public Administration and Government (CEAPG), among others research groups.
• In undergraduate programs, the School offers three kinds of programs: a research initiation program, named “Conexão Local” (Local Connection) since 2005; a residency program in research centers; and, for students in their last semester, the school offers the opportunity to develop an individual research project. The “Conexão Local” program is a partnership with other universities within the country and its goal is to raise the students’ interest and involvement with innovative social management experiences and local economic development, focusing on public policies, reduction of poverty and promotion of citizenship. In the residency program, students are able to carry out and help various research tasks in process.
In its statutes, the School is committed to intensifying the generation and dissemination of knowledge which impact public, private and third-sector organizations. It also points to an integrated knowledge, beyond disciplinary frontiers and modern technologies, towards a cooperative attitude and in collaboration with other researchers and institutions.
