Achievements Curriculum Integration in the Field of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability

Established a Center for Responsible Business (CRB) headed by Economics Professor Li Wei to research business and society issues as they specifically relate to the evolving situation in China. The Center is also involved in application and execution of the China portion of global initiatives in this area.

As part of the compulsory curriculum, world-renowned Confucian Scholar Tu Wei-ming (Harvard) lectures incorporate into the Cheung Kong business education a discussion of values and religious traditions and how these inform the vision and business decisions of executives.

Sichuan Earthquake relief initiatives including the rebuilding of schools with alumni contributions, and cooperation with NGOs both inside and outside of China to solicit and screen applications from women entrepreneurs in the earthquake zone to receive funding for their businesses.

The MBA Program participated in the Aspen Institute Business & Society 2008 Survey: “Where Will They Lead? Business & Society Issues in the Eyes of Chinese MBA Students”

Achievements Research Development in the Field of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability

Under the direction of Tu Wei-ming, Cheung Kong GSB plans to establish a Global Humanities Committee to faciliate in-depth discussions and to aid business leaders in navigating the intersection of culture, values, and business.

We have established a Center for Responsible Business (CRB), which will conduct research in the area of Business & Society as it relates to China, and initiate cooperative and comparative research projects with institutions outside of China.

The Cheung Kong Case Center is encouraging professors to include Business & Society issues in cases they are developing, so that these issues can be more actively incorporated into the China context of classroom discussions.
