Achievements Curriculum Integration in the Field of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability

Our institution has been premier in incorporating Corporate Social Responsibility activities and corporate Governance as a part of our curriculum.

Business Ethics and Corporate Governance topics are well integrated into the curriculum of our MBA Course which is affiliated to Bangalore University. For instance, Business Ethics, CSR, Corporate Governance and Marketing Ethics, Ethics in Finance are integrated into the Core and Specialization subjects like Strategic Management & Corporate Governance, Entrepreneurship & Ethics, Finance and Marketing specialization streams.

Subjects on Sustainability, CSR & Business Ethics and Environmental laws are included in the curriculum of the undergraduate level BBM course of the Bangalore University itself and at the post graduation level MBA Course these topics are integrated into the respective specialization streams in order for the students to have a finer appreciation and understanding of Social Responsibility, Ethics and Governance issues in relation to the major Specific Management disciplines of Finance, Marketing and HR.

In addition, students are encouraged to choose topics having linkages to sustainability, Social responsibility and Corporate Governance for their internship / project work which is also a part of their curriculum.

Achievements Research Development in the Field of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability

In January 2016, our Department of Management studies hosted a National Conference on the broad theme ' Make in India Eco-system Towards (a) Indian Ethos, (b) Sustainability and (c) Inclusive Growth, as sub-themes.

The Conference witnessed participation from a large number of academics and Corporate executives and Management students. Many eminent personalities from the Industry and Academia addressed the participants on the three specific sub-themes mentioned above.

More importantly, this National Conference has enabled our Institution to forge links with many leading Companies and other institutions which are serious about and actively involved in CSR and Sustainability initiatives which would go a long way in further embedding these themes in the curriculum of Management education.

Going forward we would like to build on these Corporate networking by inviting experts on these themes for guest lectures and arranging for internships for our students with such companies on these themes amongst others.
