Achievements Curriculum Integration in the Field of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability

Ursuline College is currently re-launching its MBA program as a socially conscious business program. This means that we are integrating sustainability, social justice and corporate social responsibility into every dimension of the business curriculum.
Topics that are being introduced are unusual in many management programs, including but not limited to the sharing economy, the gift economy, sacred economics, how to create a local living economy, fair trade, alternative currencies (bitcoin to name just one), ethical treatment of animals, universal income, income inequality, personal consumption, permaculture, B corps and Benefit Corporation, triple-bottom-line accounting, the externalization of costs and the intersection of spirituality and business.
Students are encouraged to question, doubt, disagree, think critically, analyze and reflect on these subjects.
Teaching methods are interactive using dialogue in the classroom, rather than lecture format. The understanding is that the instructors – although they still introduce the topics - do not have a monopoly on knowledge and, indeed, have as much to learn as the students. And students are not just here to absorb knowledge but also to impart it and to create it.
Ursuline is committed to the principles of Responsible Management Education to make tomorrow better both locally and internationally,
