This is a progress report of Mehran University Institute of Science, Technology and Development (MUISTD) describing the developments and progress after its previous report submitted in 2015.
Contributing to PRME goals and to execute our commitments to become a socially responsible and sustainable university as per PRME guidelines, this and our previous report are still valid.
Achievements Curriculum Integration in the Field of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability
A. A course on " Business Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility' is part of the MBA curricula at MUISTD.
B. A faculty member (first contact person here) conducted research on Business and Management Schools in Pakistan to keep track of 'CSR and Sustainability' in the curricula. The research results have been published in the Journal of Cleaner Production. The paper can be accessed at: http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0959652614002893
C. For wider publicity and to emphasize the need to have CSR principles and practices adopted by companies, an article was contributed and was published by a leading English daily in Pakistan. The article can be read at: http://www.dawn.com/news/1044754/improving-business-society-relations
D. Currently, we have submitted following project for funding:
Road to Sustainability: Integrating Sustainable Development (SD) into Higher Education in Pakistan
Project Vision / Mission: To help Pakistan achieve Millennium Development Goals related to Sustainable Development

Achievements Research Development in the Field of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability
A. Center for Knowledge Transfer (CKT) at MUISTD is responsible for liaison with industry in the region, and one of its prime focus is CSR and Sustainability.
B. We will be holding a 'Popular Lecture' by one of the renowned CSR speaker - Ms. Ambreen Waheed in March, 2015. The industry, academia and students will be invited to attend. The theme of the workshop is: Empowering Businesses through ‘Corporate Social Responsibility’: Issues and Avenues for Pakistan
C. A consultative workshop on CSR is being planned to be held end of this year.
