HGSEM Sharing Information on Progress 2010 - View Report
In the SIP 2010 Hosei University's Graduate School of Environmental Management provides a review of its activities against the PRME. The report shares how PRME related activities contribute to improve HGSEM's educational programs, but also highlighst the contribution of our faculty members to the advancement of Sustainability across the entire university and our stakeholders.
Achievements Curriculum Integration in the Field of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability
Our graduate course is well recognized among practitioners in the corporate and the governmental sector, but also among NPOs. A majority of lecturers have worked as managers, administrators or consultants across those sectors.
Througout their programme, students have to conduct their own research project, meeting weekly with their referees and finally resulting in a master thesis.
Faculty members conduct research funded by governmental institutions but also contracted by companies.
Whenever possible, students are encouraged to participate and contribute to the research projects e.g. in the form or field study tours conducting interviews and onsite data collection.
Beyond the gradudate courses offered, student can participate in the many CSR and sustainability related courses and events organised by Hosei University, such as last year’s a weekly lecture series on CSR featuring top managers of Japanase multinational companies.
