East Bay colleges boost socially responsible business programs

At a time when corporate ethics and excess are making headlines on a daily basis, Mills College is launching its Center for Socially Responsible Business. At the same time, UC-Berkeley’s much-heralded Center for Responsible Business at the Haas School of Business is adjusting to new leadership and looking to strengthen its connection with the local business community as it continues to grow. Mills’ center, housed in the Lorry I. Lokey Graduate School of Business at the Oakland campus of the independent liberal arts college, is being partly funded by a three-year grant from the Elfenworks Foundation, a Burlingame nonprofit organization.
