23 November 2016 | Rio de Janeiro, Brazil - The 4th PRME Chapter Brazil Meeting concluded yesterday with a focus on achievements over the course of 2016, while looking ahead to upcoming events and milestones in 2017.
The event, held at Fundacao Dom Cabral (FDC) in Rio de Janeiro, included a presentation from the president of the International Association of Schools of Institutes of Administration (IASIA), Bianor Cavalcanti. Cavalcanti shared information about the organisation and how it brings together institutions that work with public administration and management.
Additionally, the PRME Chapter Brazil coordinator, Mr. Norman Arruda Filho from ISAE/FGV, recalled the recent LEAD Symposium at the University of Cambridge. He noted PRME Champion schools participating in the Breakthrough Innovation Challenge - a series of workshops and events organised by the UN Global Compact in partnership with PRME students - around supporting disruptive innovation to support sustainable development.
Looking to 2017, the Chapter members discussed the development of a methodology for a workshop on how to disseminate and work with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) inside educational institutions. Divided into three main phases: inspriation, awareness and action, the methodology is co-designed by a commission of 12 institutions (FEA/USP, FEA/USP-RP, FDC, ISAE, SESI/PR, FIA, Universidade Metodista, PUC/SP, EBAPE/FGV, EAESP/FGV, Insper and UFU) and UNGC Brazil.
While looking to the 2017 Global Forum for Responsible Management Education and the 10th Anniversary of PRME, the Chapter ended with an agenda for 2017 that includes integrating the PRME Strategic Review into its work; organising further workshops on the SDGs; and establishing the 4th Responsible Management Education Research Conference in the region.
