In 2015, seventy-eight new institutions signed on to the PRME initiative, raising the total to nearly 650 active PRME participants from 83 countries. At the same time, 198 institutions submitted SIP reports, while 18 were delisted for failure to meet the mandatory reporting requirement. As the initiative grows, individual signatories and groups, such as PRME Chapters and PRME Champions, push responsible management education to new levels and continue to drive forward this community. This report provides us with an opportunity to reflect on highlights from the past year and look forward to exciting projects and priorities in 2016.
We are happy to report that in 2015:
- Twelve PRME Regional Meetings were held to discuss and activate responsible management practices in the local context, with two new PRME Chapters emerging (PRME Chapter Central and Eastern Europe & PRME Chapter India) and one new established Chapter (PRME Chapter North America). In 2016, 14 PRME Regional Meetings are scheduled.
- The PRME Champions group concluded its 2014-2015 pilot phase and took on applications for the new phase of PRME Champions projects that began in January 2016.
Coming up in 2016:
- The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) will continue to be placed at the forefront of the PRME community, acting as the Flagship Issue for both the UN Global Compact and PRME. In this respect, PRME will focus on enabling and mobilizing management educators and students as well as young innovators to the 2030 Agenda and SDGs. Accordingly, PRME signatory institutions are encouraged to align their work with the SDGs through individual commitments and collaborative action through PRME Workstreams, Chapters, and other engagement platforms.
- The PRME Secretariat, along with the PRME Steering Committee and PRME Advisory Committee, is updating PRME’s strategic goals through a strategic review process.
As 2016 progresses, PRME will continue to link the PRME community to relevant news and opportunities at the global, regional, and local levels, and with stakeholders across sectors.
