A group of chief executives joined UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon in Davos/Switzerland on 28 January 2011 for the launch of Global Compact LEAD - a new platform created by the UN Global Compact to take environmental, social and governance performance to the next level and set a new benchmark for corporate sustainability. Global Compact LEAD also forges links with investors and educators through the Principles for Responsible Investment and Principles for Responsible Management Education initiatives. PRME’s representative in Global Compact LEAD will be Thunderbird President, Dr. Angel Cabrera with support of the PRME Secretariat. The role of PRME will be to advise the group on opportunities for PRME/academic input to LEAD activities, and to identify relevant collaborators/issue experts.
Secretary General Ban Ki-moon stated “I have every expectation that your best practices on environmental, social and governance issues will inspire investors and clients to place higher valuations on your companies -- thereby motivating other companies to embrace the sustainability agenda.”
