IESE Business School: Putting Ethics at the Core of Business Management

"The most valuable asset that a company or individual has is their reputation. This is something we seem to have, and are, neglecting at our peril," said Fordham University Prof. Kevin Jackson during a recent Continuous Education Program session at IESE's campus in Barcelona on October 1 to present, alongside IESE Profs. Carlos Cavallé and Antonio Argandoña, the new book Rethinking Business Management. A collection of articles penned by 16 distinguished academics and published by Social Trends Institute, the book posits a more ethics-based approach to business management. Reflecting on the current crisis in the U.S. financial markets - which he qualified as a "downright scandal" - Prof. Jackson said that the only way for the market to effectively reinstate itself is by rebuilding trust. Ultimately, "it is by honorable contract that companies earn their place in the world."
