PRME Chapter DACH has the pleasure of inviting you to attend and contribute to the conference on Leadership Development for Advancing the Implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals that will be co-organized by PRME Secretariat, PRME Working Group on Anti-poverty, and the Center for Advanced Sustainable Management at Cologne Business School (CBS).
The goal of the conference is to create a forum to discuss how research and management education community, in collaboration with businesses, policy makers, NGOs, youth, media, and other stakeholders could best support the ongoing flagship initiatives of UN Global Compact and PRME focused on responsible leadership development for advancing the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Key topics of the conference will be: How to ensure that this research agenda provides for both the academic rigor and high relevance for management educators, business practitioners and policy makers involved in the implementation of the SDGs? What learning/teaching innovations do we need to bring new research outputs into the classroom and enhance the educational excellence and relevance? How could all this contribute to the development of a responsible leadership mindset, which would enable management educators and business practitioners to act as change agents that create a meaningful and measurable impact on advancing the SDGs?
An exciting program will include diverse formats such as prominent keynote speakers, thematic panels and roundtables, parallel sessions around the key topics, posters and other forms of interactive exchange. As already traditional for the RME Research Conferences, a special feature of the program is that it is open for co-design by PRME Working Groups, PRME Regional Chapters, PRME Champion Group, other stakeholders and research community from PRME and beyond through their submissions to the Call for Contributions (due February 2018).
The conference will be held in conjunction with the 6th PRME Chapter DACH Annual Meeting and 8th International Conference on Sustainability and Responsibility 14-15 November, to which the PRME is invited to contribute.
We invite you to contribute to the event by proposing the conference topics and sessions that could contribute to the research agenda and learning innovations for leadership development to support the advancement of the SDGs.
Our choice for this venue is the fascinating city of Köln, which offers seemingly endless attractions, led by its world-famous cathedral whose filigree twin spires dominate the skyline, Germany’s single most popular tourist attraction. Its museum landscape is especially strong in arts, but also has something in store for fans of chocolate, sports, and Roman history. Its people are well known for their liberalism and “joie de vivre”; and it’s easy to have a good time right along with them year-round in the beer halls of its old town or during its Carnival. We look forward to receiving your contributions and will be delighted to meet you in Cologne! More about the 5th RME Research Conference and the series of the November 2018 events in Cologne will be available shortly on the conference home page, which is under construction.
