1st PRME Anti-Corruption Conference

The PRME Working Group on Anti-Corruption, in cooperation with the Humanistic Management Network and HEC Paris in Qatar, are organizing a conference in conjunction with the PRME Global Forum in New York with the focus theme: Behavior Risks and Anti-Corruption Mainstreaming for Respecified Executive and Management Education

Background

Many business schools launch and perpetuate executive education activities with the aim to generate funds. A significant portion of corporate universities evolved from cost to profit centers as well, even including opening themselves up to external clients and participants. However, more challenging topics on the normative level such as ethics, humanism, sustainability, and anti-corruption received little to no attention.

Moreover, it is imperative that measuring the success of executive education seminars moves beyond the smiley sheets and satisfaction surveys distributed at the end of modules. Instead, such seminars and courses ought to aim for respecification – towards actually changed attitudes and behaviors, the right impact on business and society. Such a respecification of executive education is highly necessary, in light of the tremendous commercialization executive education has undergone over the last years.
